I received a tape in 1995 telling me how great Super Blue Green Algae products were. I really thought it was too good to be true, but it started me thinking, so I listened to it again. One of the effects of radiation that I still deal with is lymphedema, which causes swelling and pain from my waist down. Hi all: In September, Lisa (one of our Preferred Customers) called me to let me know that she is the proud mommy of a baby girl but that her baby has Down syndrome. In July of 1997, our son Peter developed a high fever that lasted several days, with no other symptoms. His doctor thought that the source must be viral. A week after the fever had returned to normal, we left for a long-planned road trip to North Carolina. As we traveled, Peter developed a rash. Our family's introduction to Simplexity Health and these whole food nutritional products occurred in July of '95, when I was so ill and fatigued that for three months I couldn't do much more than a few simple household tasks, and I spent most of my time just moving from the bed to the sofa and back again. I was 46 years old, had always been reasonably healthy, and was frightened and depressed. Recently I went in to the drugstore to ask the pharmacist for her recommendation on something I was dealing with. She asked me how old I am (61) and what medications I am presently taking (none). Clyde and Beverly will have been married 56 years on July 4, 2007. Congratulations!! My name is Beverly and my husband is Clyde. We have been eating Super Blue Green Algae for 14 years. Omega Sun is what keeps me stable. I have had epilepsy since I was two years old. I turned 74 on May 15, 2007. My husband will be 76 on November 18, 2007. He had an enlarged heart and high blood pressure. He likes Super Sun Smoothie and Go Green the best. I put lecithin, flaxseed that I grind, whey protein, and wheat germ in a cranberry drink with no sugar. I also add an apple, and blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries. I use pure water and add the Super Sun Smoothie and Go Green when I blend this. Clyde and I walk and do other exercises. I have read a lot about exercising early in the morning when your metabolism is still asleep. Simple weightlifting routines are fun and take only 15 minutes each morning. I like to do Jill Johnson "Oxycise!" 15-minute video. I also do lots of deep breathing. Don Anderson, Ph.D., is Senior Scientist (Biology Department) and Director of the Coastal Ocean Institute and Rinehart Coastal Research Center of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Although we discourage our customers from writing directly to the scientists with whom we have consulted for many years (including Dr. Anderson), we felt that this inquiry and Dr. Anderson's response may be helpful for you to have in your "overcoming objections" toolbox.
For about ten years I have been taking blue-green algae from Upper Klamath Lake, Oregon, produced by Cell Tech (now Simplexity Health). I recently heard about something in the algae that might harm one's liver. I wrote to Simplexity Health and they e-mailed me back saying that their algae is safe and that the state of Oregon approves of their testing methods; they also cited you as an authority regarding the purity of their algae. I would like to keep taking the algae (my son also takes it), so I am writing to ask you directly: Do you think that Simplexity's Alpha Sun, Omega Sun, and Spectrabiotic are safe? I am taking them as a dietary supplement to boost my general health, because our diet isn't all that great. Thanks. Dr. Anderson's response:
The algae that you are eating from Simplexity Health is called Aphanizomenon flos-aquae. The reports you heard are about a possible contaminant alga called Microcystis, which produces a toxin (microcystin) that can harm the liver. For many years, my colleagues and I have been working with the company and providing input on their harvesting and processing procedures to make certain that their product tests below the guidelines for microcystin established by the Oregon Health Department. I can assure you that any product you buy from Simplexity Health has been thoroughly tested for microcystin as well as other possible contaminants, and that results are always below the state regulatory level. The product is therefore safe--and the fact that I eat Simplexity Health products myself (and give some to my mother and wife, as well) should demonstrate the strength of my conviction. I also believe there are compounds in Aphanizomenon flos-aquae that are beneficial and can help you and your son. It is not a substitute for a poor diet, however; you should strive to eat well regardless of the supplements you take.
April 22, 2007, is another opportunity to celebrate Earth Day, which started in April of 1970. We encourage everyone to participate in local activities in celebration of this event. There are numerous resources that provide information about local and global activities and ways to make a difference. Each of us has the opportunity to make a difference! Nutrition, exercise, and health in general have been my passion. As a dental hygienist, mom, and "practicing nutritionist," I have been motivated to educate others on the issues of limiting sugar, having good digestion, improving our immune system, and making superfoods a part of an overall healthy diet. But I also feel compelled to help in additional ways, and this year I am doing an Olympic distance triathlon with Team in Training for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Normally I work out 5-7 days a week, which I have been doing for over 15 years. I decided that the older I get, the harder it is to keep starting over every time I get too busy to work out. Now I know at the beginning of the week when and what I will be doing: swimming 45-60 minutes several times a week, running, elliptical training or deep water jogging 2-3 days, and spinning (cycling) two days. In winter I also do 2-3 days of weight training a week. With the triathlon coming up, what I am doing now is training seven days straight, with a day off every 2-3 weeks. When I started with Simplexity Health products almost 10 years ago, one of the first things I noticed was that I didn't feel wiped out after I exercised. Usually I felt like I was dragging my body out of the locker room, thankful that I was done and could eat! But with the products, I almost always feel energized after training; I can feel how they are supporting me. During training, I will increase my daily amount of antioxidant CoQ10, as well as vitamin E every other day. I'll also start using Alpha Gold again before a workout...oh my, there is nothing like it, especially at 6 AM! I normally use six Alpha Sun and four Omega Sun, as well as E-12 with meals daily. If I am running at night, I might take four more Alpha Sun around 1 or 2 PM. I will use Acidophilus and Bifidus at my cleansing times (spring and fall), and increase the amount of enzymes, taking them throughout the day. I just started using StemPlex and I think it is the combination of StemPlex and a more consistent exercise routine, diet, and the other supplements I am using that allow me to feel less sore, tired, overstressed, and more focused than I have in the past. Even though I have a tough routine (which will only get longer as I get closer to the summer), I feel very joyous and energized, and very focused on giving to Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My four-year-old son has grown up with the algae; he had it indirectly from his mom, and I mixed it into formula and juice and cereal whenever I could. SBGAnytime has been his major source of vegetables ever since he began choosing his own food, with the occasional broccoli bit or other algae product mixed in whenever he would take it. Recently, he saw me mixing up a Go Green/rice protein drink for myself, and asked for some. "Mmmm. Yummy!" So he helped me shake up a small glass for himself. Then we did it again the next morning! A Mothers Day Letter from a Grateful Blue-Green Algae Mom When I happened in on an August Celebration fourteen years ago, and subsequently accepted an invitation to write a book about the magnificent Super Blue Green (my book was also entitled August Celebration), I had no idea that that literary decision would affect my family in a very personal way unto the third generation. Soon after I began my work for Simplexity Health, my daughter Cindy in Kauai, Hawaii, became pregnant. By that time we were all enthusiastic advocates of the products. Cindy, who had become a Simplexity distributor, kept her strength up with algae throughout the pregnancy -- through the battering her island took during Hurricane Iniki and the subsequent evacuation to Maui, where Kanoa was born 13 years ago. I'm proud to say that Kanoa, his brother Ian, 9, and their five stepsisters and stepbrother are all algae children, and all magnificently healthy and athletic. In fact, Kanoa has just been selected for the prestigious U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program. Kanoa will represent his state at the regional conference in Portland, Oregon, from June 28 through July 3. He will also visit California and Washington D.C. I'm writing to you today to say that I believe that both genes and algae have had an influence in fostering my grandson's skill and grace at almost any sport. Simplexity Health products - subtle but powerful I have been a consumer of Simplexity Health products since 1995. Before I started, I didn't really have anything wrong with me. I was of average-to-good health, took vitamins, was pretty physically active (although not on a regular exercise program), and seemed to be holding my own at 46 years old. I started the products because I wanted to make money in network marketing, not because I thought that I'd benefit all that much from blue-green algae. I just had my 57th birthday. Hi everyone, After reading the post where brands were compared, I feel the need to let you all know about my experience. I ate Simplexity Health algae for six years. In October of 2005 my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. She depends on me for her care and for emotional support. I retired at age 57 in 1990, mainly because of poor health. The first four years of my retirement were spent chasing the elusive bass, sea trout, redfish, walleye, perch, etc., but in 1994 I had arthritis so bad I had to give up fishing altogether. By 1996 I didn't even want to live any longer and became more of a burden to my wife than I was already. I couldn't even mow my own lawn. My list of ailments in 1996 would fill a small book. I think I probably bought our family doctor a boat during the 10 years prior to 1996, and I also tried every "natural solution" I could find, but nothing worked. Then a friend told me about Simplexity Health, and I grudgingly ordered a month's supply of enzymes, Spectrabiotic, and Super Blue Green Algae, fully expecting to return them in a few weeks for a refund. I received the products in July 1996, and began that day with just the enzymes and Spectrabiotic. Within 24 hours my constant hunger, fatigue, and daytime sleepiness were GONE, never to return. I always help put on our local Independence Day celebration, which this year took place on Saturday, July 2. I ate LOTS of Simplexity Health products during the day--I couldn't have kept going without them! Putting on the events is a lot of hard work, but very satisfying. It's a small community, so the same people (mostly fire department members) are doing all the work all day long. We put on a parade, set up and feed hundreds in a community barbecue, and clean up from that. Then we set up the fireworks show (that takes a couple hours alone) and wait till dark, do the show, then clean up the area afterwards, using flashlights and car headlights to see. It's always a 14-hour or more day, and I'm on my feet most of the time, running around. Since I am a Canadian, I was not able to get Super Blue Green Algae at the beginning of 2005. I thought you might be interested in my experience. I have been eating algae for over ten years, and over time found I do best on six Alpha Sun per day. During the three months I could not get algae, I tried spirulina and a green barley/alfalfa mix. I have been consuming all of Simplexity Health products for nine years now. I recently tore the cartilage in my knee and went to visit two orthopedic doctors that I had previously worked with about ten years ago. Well, not that I EVER doubted the power of the algae, but I have been so overwhelmed with work in the last few months that I was not paying attention. I routinely work ten to fourteen hours a day and keep going. I was introduced to Super Blue Green Algae over 10 years ago. I began with Alpha Sun, Omega Sun, SBG Zymes, and Acidophilus. I also remember getting Super Sprouts & Algae on my next order. Last year, I developed a serious skin problem on my legs during this project. I was afraid for my health again this year. However, this time I managed well and survived working 54 - 63 hours per week with six hours of sleep at night. I know that Super Blue Green Algae was the sole reason I came through this project without any serious health issues. I was not able to spend any extra personal care time for myself; I just maintained my normal SBGA intake. SBGA is my hero! Pat
Two years ago I started a new job as a principal/head teacher in a one-teacher school in a Northern California mountain village. My husband aids me with the older students in the mornings, but I've got 13 from noon on, grades 1-8. I don't know that I could do all that I do without the strength and energy I get from the algae and enzymes. I haven't missed a day of school so far, and I feel great! Thank you, Simplexity Health! I have been consuming Simplexity Health products for over 10 years now. I call it "life insurance." I can invest in the Simplexity products and reap the benefits now, or not invest in them and let my family benefit from the other kind of life insurance when I die, which would be earlier than if I invest in the true "life insurance" Simplexity products can offer. Hi all, I read this month's Alternatives newsletter by Dr. David Williams. He is himself rather alternative(!) and often has interesting things to say. This time I learned that 49% of women in the U.S., and 39% of men, take prescription drugs. Do you realize, that is nearly half the population?? Apparently, one in six are taking at least three different drugs. Another difficult fact is that over 24% of young people under age 18 take prescription drugs. Is this the society that we want? Many of you know Dorotha Massey, who has been with Simplexity Health for around ten years. Dorotha (I hope you don't' mind my saying, Dorotha) is 91 years old, and her sister is 95. They are the only people in their retirement community who do not take any drugs, and who consistently take advantage of Simplexity's whole personal care approach. I was scheduled for eye surgery and learned that a physical would be required. Part of the procedure was having my husband fill out a four-page form. When he returned it to the admissions clerk, he was informed that he had not completed the two inside pages. The truth was that nothing applied (I take NO medications, have no heart problems, etc.). Then I saw a physician's assistant, who checked a couple of things and observed that I was so healthy I DID NOT need an EKG. We did write on the form that I eat Aph. flos-aquae and have done so for 9+ years. Wanda
Recently I went to visit a lady who tells me she is going to order some Simplexity Health product when she runs out of the other algae she has at home. When I walked into her place of business, she said, "I found a sack in my refrigerator that had a bottle of Alpha and Omega in it. I just started taking three of them a day and I can't believe how I FEEL! It is amazing. I am looking for projects!" She has only tried the Alpha Sun and will start the Omega Sun when she finishes the first bottle. I also told her two of the things that really make our algae different from other algae out of the same lake are how quickly and expertly our algae is stabilized and how well it is harvested, processed, and stored without disturbing the nutrients!
